Known affectionately as the  “Mind, Body Soul Mechanic,”  Todd is an Acupuncturist and Physician of Chinese Medicine, Performance and Life Coach, and Master Body Worker.  Relocating to Boulder  in  the fall of 2011, Todd brings over 30 years of experience in the Cycling, Fitness, and Wellness  industries to the Front Range. Growing up in California, he developed a deep passion for bicycling; Todd has ridden or raced every bike from BMX to Road, Mountain and Cyclo-Cross, and he’s even spun around the Track. Additionally, Todd has been an Alpine and Water Skier for many years.

Todd began working on competitive athletes while studying at East West College of the Healing Arts in Portland Oregon in the late 90’s. Then while working on his BS at Occidental College, Todd explored the mind-body connection by conducting independent research for the Kinesiology Department regarding the “Psycho-Physiological impact of Swedish massage,” and dove deeper into body movement by researching the “Biomechanics of Varying Bicycle Seat Heights.” Additionally, while at Oxy, Todd pursued a minor in Comparative Religious Philosophy with a particular emphasis in Buddhism & Taoism and began a regular practice of Meditation and Tai Chi. 

Philosophy

Finding an elegant harmony in his clinical practice between Western Science and the Mind/Body/Spirit perspective of the East, Todd completed his Masters in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine at Yo San University in Los Angeles in 2006. Then in 2009 he became a Diplomat of the National Board of Acupuncture Orthopedics (1 of less than 1000 in the US) and now has decades of experience treating  Orthopedic and Sports related injuries.  Todd  has been blessed to work the world’s Elite Professional Tri-athletes, Top Professional Road/Cross/MTB and Track Cyclists, Top Mixed Martial Artists, NBA Players, Major Leaguers, AVP athletes, and many other amateur and elite level athletes.

More recently, Todd has been working with the American Institute of Psychiatry in Traditional Chinese Medicine to bring the ancient traditions of Taoist Five Element Shen (Spirit) Medicine back to the forefront of natural treatment of Mental Health Disorders. 

Beyond the clinic and classroom settings, Todd  is currently working on developing an integrated education curriculum for Acupuncturist and Massage Therapists, working to publish his first book, and will be giving regular lectures, seminars and workshops on a variety of health and wellness topics. Additionally, Todd is a registered non-denominational minister and occasionally officiates weddings.

Dana Shierstone

I grew up the third generation on a family farm outside of Golden Colorado and was always working in the garden with my grandmother and my father. In college I started doing Chinese Shaolin Kung Fu and developed a deep appreciation for the chinese medicine which treats the whole being and is excellent for creating and sustaining a healthy lifestyle. My educational background includes a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and a Masters degree is environmental science. I have worked at several pharmaceutical companies and as a geochemist. These two sides of me come together like Yin and Yong at Mind Body Soul Medicinals where I do the technical work to bring effective and innovative products to my community of small businesses and people. I use my years of experience in quality control, compliance, formulation and hemp industry knowledge to help build brands and support small businesses at a price and quantity they can afford. I am committed to supporting the growing hemp, dietary supplement and functional foods industries as we bring better and healthier plant medicine alternatives to the market.

I bring a deep engineering and compliance background to my work. As a quality control specialist working on the space shuttle booster motors for NASA I developed an appreciation for planning, documentation and process control. Once it is in space, it has to work and that means really understanding the entire process. As a geochemist I modeled complex chemistry of groundwater systems, and now apply those skills to understanding the dynamic opportunities in the hemp and dietary supplement industry. Since 2013 I have worked with in the cannabis and hemp space at four start up companies in a variety of roles including: building safe and innovative extraction equipment, creating and running an extraction department, creating and running a product production department, cannabis laboratory testing, software development, technical sales, and compliance.

Frank Albert

“Director of Sales and Customer Satisfaction"

 

 

We keep telling Frank he should write a book of his life story, and we hope he does.  He was born in Rabat, Morocco to Czechoslovakian parents – his father was a diplomat and his mother a physician. He was the first member of the family born outside of Czechoslovakia.  

At age one and a half he and sister Edith went to live with their paternal grandparents in Prague while dad, mom and eldest sister Zaria were on revolving assignments in Southern Europe. Two and a half years later the family was reunited in Nairobi, Kenya, where they lived for 3 years, during the Velvet Revolution - while Russian tanks were invading Prague. 

The family defected to England in 1970 where Frank spent the next 11 years and eventually attended a traditional, all boys, military and religious boarding school. Not surprisingly, the later and other considerations caused Frank to run away from home, joining his sister Edith at the University of Denver. Aside from one year, when he travelled around the world, he has been in Colorado ever since. 

His first date at DU in 1981 was with Jennifer – it did not go well, but luckily, they bumped into each other (literally) in 2010 and were married in 2012.  They live in Evergreen, Colorado where Frank has lived and been a big part of the community since 1984. 

Frank has enjoyed creating sales and customer satisfaction all his adult life.  He has been involved in the financial sector, philanthropic fundraising, and in the Cannabis sector since late 2016.  He considers the greatest compliment he ever received to be, “Frank knows how to be a friend”. It is this spirit he brings to all his business dealings as well.  Honesty and integrity are his guiding principles and we are so glad to have him on the team.
